View Full Version : Image Problem...... Invalid Cue

I finally manage to get DVD2SVCD working again on my XP box, now the problem that I seem to have is with the image creation. Once in a while I get a bad Cue image, don't know why and don't know witch one will be; for example on the movie Unbreakable I got image #2 and #3 fine with no problem but when I try to burn image #1 it fails.
On the movie "the Others" I get image #1 and #2 working but image #3 fails.
this is the message I get with CdrWin:
Error: Invalid Cue sheet command at line 11 index times are not in
ascending order"
With Fire burner no errors, just a coaster....
Anybody with same problem??
Is there a way to fix it without starting the process from start?

This won't fix the problem but it'll save you some coasters... always test out images with Daemon tools (mount a virtual drive) first, and see if it will work or not. If it doesn't work as a virtual drive, then it won't work when you try to burn. If it does work as a virtual drive, then use direct cd copy to burn from the virtual drive to a blank cdr/w.

I'll try that, I wanted to istall daemon tools before but didn't, so this time looks like I don't have a choice.
I'll post results as soon as posible. :)

I try the Daemon tools and actually I got the same result and same message again, so the image is corrupted some how.
I was using VCDXbuild to create the image, so I went to crash recover and tryed to create the image using VCDImager instead; the result was a 24 sec disk, with only the logo of the movie on it.

Hi ramutan,
some burners have issues (at least with fireburner and some other apps) when burning a detailed CUE sheet. They work way better when using a simple CUE sheet only.
For instance, you can use VCDEasy and drag your muxed MPEG files into it and burn your SVCDs if it's built-in CDRDAO supports your burner - I almost always use it for burning my CUE sheets and never had any troubles with it.
Then just choose "BIN/CUE" instead of the detailed one and create your SVCD and see if this works.
Or follow this thread:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21513
Or first, post your trouble giving CUE sheet (open with notepad).
Hope this helps,
Gerti

I'll try to post my cue sheet as soon as I get off work today, but i think the problem may be CDRWin because I'm sure that my plextor don't have any issues with the cue sheet, because I can burn it with Fire Burner but with only 24 seconds.
By the way I don't use Fire Burner any more, use to with older version that actually worked way better that new version; at least I think it was better before. Don't recall right away my version now but I use to love the Raw mode on it on the older version:)

Me again,
yes, me thinks too. ;)
If I were you, I would just delete the lines from "INDEX 04" to "INDEX 12" and then try to burn it onto a CD-RW perhaps and see what happens.
Usually the standalone players don't need those track marks to be able to skip by chapters (only a very few) so if your standalone supports chapters by "chaptering points" then you are still ok.
Hope this helps,

I did that and the image is for only 9 megs,so in other words it plays for only a few seconds on my PC; but I think that something went wrong on the process because the cue sheet for the image #3 is 305 megs and #2 is 805 megs while #1 is only 7.5 megs. Weird.....

Now that you say it,
your log is also pretty weird. The free space doesn't really decrease - only by a few MB after each BIN/CUE got created and the size of free space is always about 3400 MB - do you have some kind of "Unerase Guard" software running in the back or try to set the recycle bin properties to not put any files into it for this drive. Windows sometimes acts very strange if there's only little space left on the harddrive.
What happens if you specify your "C:\" drive for the creation of the images and do a "Recover" are they created correctly then? Or try to make more free space available and use VCDXBuild.
Or as it seems the bbMPEG_Muxed_Files were created properly you could try to use them with VCDEasy - it's very easy believe me. See if this helps.
Greetings,

I try VCDeasy to check if there is a problem with the programs or what is the issue, first I didn't find the muxed files and that was becasue the box on DVD2SVCD for "don't delete any files was un-check.
So I did a restore for that point to get my files and after that this is the result:

Hi again,
well, I think the problem lies in here:
...
bad packet at packet #2679 (stream byte offset 6225996) -- remaining 826988428 bytes of stream will be ignored
...Seems that bbMPEG had some trouble muxing the video and audio streams - perhaps they are corrupted somehow.
Seems you have to restart or try to mux the MPV and MP2 with TMPGEncs MPEG Tools. Have you already tried to use CCE? - Can't remember it right now. ;) Tried some other DVDs or only some few chapters to see if the whole process is able to finish on your system and nothing is messed up somehow?
Greetings,
Gerti

I only have the TMPGENC version 2.5 that Im using.
I'm going to try CCE tonite and see what happen, I ripped the DVD again just to make sure and did the whole process again saving in a total different location to compare the results that by the way are the same.
I'll post the results with CCE as soon as posible.

I just created a new image from the tools on TMPGEcn, the image that I created was to replace the one I lost for the movie Unbrekable, that was image #1.
After playing for a while with the settings I found a way to make a new mpeg file, the only problem was that the file was 855 MB. So you know the drill, didin't fit on one CD. To solve the problem I did a simple multiplex and used VCDEasy to create the SVCD and voala! my file now is 796 MB. So I mounted the file on the virtual drive and play it with WinDVD and it worked fine. The only problem is that any time I want to foward or rewind the chapter it takes me to the beginning of the movie, the whole movie is encoded as one big chapter. I used the VCDEasy tools to create chapters using the "create equidistant chapters" option but didin't work.
Any way I'm happy for now that I have my Movie complete, even tho the first cd can't be foward or rewinded.:D
