i am trying to rip Idependence Day and the VOB files are not the usual 1048 meg file size as every other dvd i have ripped. i was wondering if some knows how to fix that?

Hi frenchie20001,

and welcome to the forum. :)

Why fix something that is not broken? - Some movies have some kind of seamless/integrated branching and by choosing different track/angles you get different VOB sizes - that's not an error.

For example "Planet of the Apes" is an example I did in the past - depending on the track I chose with DVD2SVCD (use internal routines, click "Movie length" pulldown and then choose one track from the "Track length") you get different VOB sizes because only the necessary information gets ripped then.

Hope this helps,
Gerti

Whew,

that's really little information you gave us.

- How about the "dvd2svcd_log.txt"?
- Ripped with ...?
- Does the ripped AC3 file play correctly with WinDVD or PowerDVD?

Give us more. ;)

no encoded log since it craches during that phase. Power DVD gives an error when i try to play the AC3 file. i have not tried the mem check yet but i plan on doing it this weekend. I rip the dvd with the internal routine from dvd2svcd ... i also tried smart ripper but that did not work as it ripped all the files at 1048 meg and then cesweet would stop due to crc errors ..

gerti67: i hope i am providing enough for you to go on ...
Jason28: thanks for that info i was planning on doing that but i have not had a chance to do so
