What are those smr movies backup on the www?

I'd like to know what are those 2*200Mo movie files that i can find on the www with P2P apps.
I'm wondering who cares about those version, too bad for being watched, too big to be a preview...

Why for an available movie in this scale there is no 2*700Mo version?

They are conversions of VCDs that have been released into the scene, into a Microsoft Mpeg-4 variant. They have been decimated to 20fps, and greatly reduced in bitrate...

There is, these are all regular VCD and SVCD releases that are first released then the lame SMR crew converts them to their format. Look harder I'm sure you'll figure it out.

With lowered resolution as well.

It's also a hacked version of DivX, which was supposedly created by the above mentioned movie group.
