I think Iīm having some troubles with the "Make your DVD-ROM drive region-free" Guide. Here are my questions:
After rebooting run the flasher. In our example you'd type "resetcnt 1015f.hex", then the program will search for a DVD-ROM and ask you if you want to flash
1 - You canīt write the extension of the firmware file. īCos the program already understands itīs a *.hex file, otherwise youīll get a message like: "Couldnīt open output file...". So in the case above the correct command line would be "resetcnt 1015f". Am I right? At least thatīs what happened to me...:rolleyes:
2 - After the struggle of guessing I should not write the extension ;) , Iīve noticed that I wasnīt asked to flash anything. The only thing I saw was the program telling me that is was updating my firmware and showing a percentage of the progress. After this it came with a message to reboot the machine and I thought: "Strange... but thatīs okay, lets see what I got here..." After that I ran DriveInfo to check the Region Protection and it was still there :confused: ! Crap! I already checked if the firmware was right and Iīm damn sure it is... Btw my DVD-ROM is a LG DRD8160B 1.01 (Acordding to DriveInfo) and Iīm under WIN XP.
Can anybody help me ??
