ello can anyone help in the ac3machine guide , where do i download ac3machine. prob bein dumb but the highlighted besweet download doesent look the same. thanks for any advice )

cheers for that but im havin a pronb with ac3machine pickin up the ac3 file, that was made by dvd2avi. everything else picks it up as ac3 but ac3 machine wont argghhhh :)(

im not getting any pops ups for crashes or anything ive tried other ac3 files and they just wont show up in the file selection box in ac3 machine and ive got ac3 files selected in file type. im tryin to back up crouching tiger im havin trouble with the video aswell wonder if anyone else has had trouble with that film????

when ac3 is encoded to mp3 do u still get the full dolby digital 5.1 effect? if so i think ill do that instead. thanks for all ur help

mp3 with dolby-surround 2 encoding will preserve 5.1 information, but not as good as if you were muxing the original AC3 stream in your film.

just found this thread - I'm having the same problem with AC3machine. I can only open AC3 when I enter the source and target files manually, files don't show up in the file selection (win2k sp2).

btw. good to know that mp3 is able to preserve Dolby-Surround (this is how I understood it). A friend of mine said recently that any surround info was automatically lost in mp3s, but I wasn't sure about that. The original AC3 track is undoubtedly better, though.
