Hi there, here is a big problem I have when trying to put menus on a DVDr.

A few disks I am backing up need re-enocding to fit on 4500 mb, however when I copy the menu vob + ifo back to the re-encoded vob files, the chapter buttons point to the wrong positions in the vob files.

The last chapters dont even appear as they are trying to go to like 5.4gig on the disk that doesnt even exist!

Can anyone help me with this problem please :)

thanks in advance!

That's what IfoEdit is for. Get a copy from Doom9, or visit the author's website (mpucoder.kewlhair.com/derrow) for it, a basic guide to the buttons, and detailed guides on the more advanced features. What you want to do is the very first function Derrow created.

You could also use Jdobbs' IFOUpdate utility. It's a quick and easy way of updating the chapter pointers if you've reauthored your main movie.

firstly, thanks for both of your replies !! :)

mpucoder, i had already tried lots of options in IFO edit, but none of them worked, they either stripped out the menu vobs + menu, but corrected the chapters for just the film, or kept the menus but without the chapters going to the correct place.

Second, thinks trilight, I will try this, but where is Jdobbs' IFOUpdate utility, i found the software on this site, but is there a guide anywhere on how to use it ?

thanks again

scott

As I'm sure you've probably already seen by now, it's VERY straightforward. Just just point it to the authored IFO, the original IFO, and click "Update!" :)
