Hi,
I bought a new Car CDPlayer today with a built-in MP3 decoder (as a replacement for a CD
Changer). So I'm planning to convert a big part of my CD collection to MP3. And i basically
just wanted to ask for the best way to do so. It should be good quality and easy to
use...but that's more difficult than I thought.
An easy and fast solution is EAC (Easy Audio Copy, IMHO the best CD grabber). It
automatically connects to the freedb database to collect CD informations like Artist and
title name, then writes reasonable filenames and ID3 tags. But on the other hand there's
quality. The latest LAME "ACM" (to use it within EAC) release I found on the web is not
able to encode vbr or use some of these features like GPSYSCHO or alt preset or error
protection, filters...etc.
On the other hand there is BeSweet or 'pure' LAME. There I can use all of the great LAME
features, but I have so set up every filename manually, write any ID3 Tag manually too
(BeSweet doesn't even alow me so but instad writes it's own URL as ID3 Tag) - which all in
all sucks when you have to deal with hundreds of songs.
...And now it's your turn. Does anyone of you know how to combine the extended features of
LAME with a good 'archiving' tool which does set up filenames and TD3 Tags on it's own?
