View Full Version : The Living Daylights sound is asynch

I posted this under a previous topic but have not heard any response, so I will post it in this new post.

Basically, I am trying to encode "The Living Daylights" with Gordian Knot using DivX Pro 5.0.2. I have done the exact same procedure with this one as I have done with "Dr. No", "Goldfinger", and "From Russia with Love". All three previously mentioned movies turned out to be just fine....great looking, sounds great...just all around perfect. I'm using the same settings and the same method to produce "The Living Daylights" and when the file is finished encoding, the size is correct, but the audio is out of synch. The audio has NOT undergone the audio expansion phenomenon, it is just out of synch. And because it is out of synch, I believe it is causing the movie to jump when it attempts to re-synch (if that is infact the scenario). I am using the most current Gordian Knot update to .26.

system specs: Windows 2000 SP1
256 MB SDRAM PC133
40GB HDD @ 7200 RPM
Pentium III @ 750 MHz

I am using BSPlayer to playback my movies and I have the most current version of BSPlayer along with ffdshow. I have turned on all the playback options within the DivX codec itself.

Please let me know if you can help or other questions I can answer that might give you more info.

thanks,

Chip

don't know if this is related to your problem:

vdub can NOT handle vbr (=abr or alt preset...) - mp3.
nandub can have trouble splitting files with divx5pro - b-frames.
using a combination of that you might run into trouble.

i recommend to use b-frames for 1cd encoding only.

to manually sync vbr-mp3 you HAVE TO use nandub!

Thank you very much for your reply.

No...that doesn't have anything to do with my rip since I am using 1 CD (700MB).

But more importantly, I found the problem. I dont' think it exists in gordian Knot. I played the file in WMP and the audio and video were fine!

I am using the most current version of BSPlayer and ffdshow as well as I have turned all of the options in the DivX config screen all on.

Any idea?

thanks,
