Screenshots from Overlay

what is the best method to take screenshots directly from the overlay, e.g. in order to post samples for broken postprocessing etc.? btw i can't seem to get bsplayer to print anything when pressing 'P'.

i have seen a number of people ask a similar question when it comes to comparison of frames, particularly when postprocessing during playback is concerned. i just thought there might be a better answer than mine which usaully reads: turn hardware acceleration off, press print on key board, insert image data in photoshop ...

in order to show postprocessing problems you don't NEED overlay, since postprocessing is done before the image is passed to the display card, and the display card is the one that's responsible for the overlay.

to take a picture you can disable hardware acceleration, either from media player or from control pannel, and then u can take screenshots with print screen or alt-print-screen.

i don't know of a way you can capture overlay since the image is passed to the display card, and it takes care of that. so if you want to show display issues, you should take a snapshot after the display card processed the image, and i don't know how to do that.

and if you use nvidia cards, there ARE display and overlay issues. no simple solution though. search the forum for 'nvidia overlay' and you'll find many posts.

all i can offer you is to try as many drivers as u can lay your hand on, change resolutions, change bitdepth, or any other parameter that relates to the display untill you find YOUR perfect setup.

You can also use DX-Snapshot (I dunno where to download it, use Google) wich is a good shareware.

The hardest way, but still tested.
1. Buy ati aiw radeon
2. Put a s-video cable from tv-out to tv-in
3. Use a video recording software to capture your overlay videos.
