I have a probe with my dvd rom wich is a liteon.
I don't remember the exact type of it but it doesn't matter.
the fact is that the dvd playback (with all softs) is way not smooth, it is "breaky" (dunno the english term, sorry) just as like there is not enough RAM ( i have more than 500Mo).
I first updated the firmware and placed the latest one, no effect.
I tried with a home-authored dvd, good playback
I tried to unlock the region with doom9 methode, no effect.
AND one day, a player (don't remember wich but a free one i'm sure of it) told me that it was a copyright probe...
I quite don't understand.
My only explanation wich may the good one is that the dvd rom was with default to begin with or my config' has never been strong enough.

850 duron proc
+500 Mo RAM
120 Go HD
Motherboard AKT7 pro
Geforce 3
Soundblaster 128
dvd rom liteon.
PCI stuffs:
hauppauge tv card
ethernet card
firewire card
sound blaster
