tv out doesn't show movies

When i use the tv out feature the tv doesn't show any type of movie on the screen. Anybody know why?

Take a look at your video card's documentation.

For example, with the ATI Rage Mobility in my laptop, I must set the display that I want video displayed on to "Primary" -- you may have to do something similar.

A few more details about hardware, drivers, screen resolution color depth etc. ?

Hi,

I had this problem last night when trying to play a divx via my laptops tv-out. It has a geforce4 go in it with nview. Nview was set to clone, and i had the same picture on my laptops lcd and the tv. When i tried to play the video I could see it on the lcd but no the tv. It seems video cards (most anyways) cannot display the overlay mode on two screens (or something like that :confused: :rolleyes: ) So set the output to tv only and it will play fine. ;)

Also you should try updating the software to the latest version, but if that dosen't help try a few other drivers. Like with my geforce cards.. sometimes the new drivers wont be good either i'll have to go back 2 a driver that did work.
