Hi guys,
I just changed to Winamp 2.80. I tried to play my ogged DVD-Audio tracks but the program just crashes at any attempt to play the files. Do I have to get any additional plugins?

Yeppie,

The ogg vorbis which produced by OggMachine is can't be played
using Winamp. I have the same problem too.

Take a look at the Audio FAQ. Question is number 24.
You may also download directly from here (http://www.blorp.com/~peter/zips/in_vorbis.exe).

@tiki4,

Thank you for the info, but...
I did install that plug-in before you post to this forum,
and I still can't play the .ogg which produced by
oggmachine ac3 -> ogg

I can play .ogg which produced by OggDropXp : wav -> ogg.
without problem.

I think i've read something about ogg produced by Oggmachine isn't readable by WMP but i don't remember well.
Also you can use headache, the resulting file is well readable by WMP and Winamp.

@emilius256,

Thank you for the info,
It's ok as long as I never use OggMachine,
since I like the DVD2AVI's WAV file and use OggDropXP to
convert it to .Ogg

What I love from above method is I could easily
re-encode the WAV to higher or lower bitrate Ogg.
I think re-encode the WAV -> OGG is faster than AC3 -> OGG,
even I have to provide more HD space for the WAV file.

Which version of BeSweet did you use to create your Ogg File? When did you download the in_vorbis.exe?

The thing is Peter changed something in the plugin so it played ogg files created by BeSweet as the version contained by Winamp 2.80 wasn't able to play those files. Please verify that you get the latest version of that plugin which is still in beta stage.
Then I'd recommend that you begin with a stable version of BeSweet (as 1.3 which is the current stable version). Also make sure you have installed the OggDS filter by Tobias Waldvogel. When you transcode your AC3 stream just use the Auto Gain feature of the OggMachine. Don't use PostGain as this will not be played in Windows Media Player (however Winamp supports this feature). A last thing I'd recommend is to use always the quality mode (-q) of Ogg Vorbis as this gives the best quality and is the recommended procedure.
The Winamp problem was actually posted by me some time ago so when you search the Audio Encoding forum for Winamp 2.80 you may see my post and the answer by Dg.
