Well, I've searched and have yet to see this problem listed anywhere with ReMpeg. When I remux my M2V files from any movie I've tried, the video quality looks great. The problem I have with all of these after remux is every once in a while the video will freeze for a fraction of a second. It then plays fine and the synch is fine with audio. I'm encoding with high priority and shutting down all other processes that aren't needed.
This isn't a media issue as it does this even on the computer before being burned.
I've tried the encoding on 2 of my systems. One is a 1.5 P4, with RDRAM 512MB and a dedicated 120GB HD. The other is a 1.6 P4 laptop. Both run WinXP.
I'm currently testing different settings for ReMpeg to see if I can get rid of the problem. I've used Gradient, Full, Integer, etc. I've tried encoding the original VOB's before stripping with IFOEdit and after stripping. Same deal.
Does anyone have this problem or have an idea what could be causing it? I mainly want to compress my kids Disney movies they watch over and over so I've burned some this way (as they rarely notice) but for all the time it takes, would be nice to get rid of the freezing.
