Hi

the futurama dvds are PAL but heavily interlaced.
de-interlacing makes a divx that looks shaky because there too much motion blur (more like moving objects appearing in two places) where the combed frames were...
is there a way to make these episodes look normal like when you watch the dvd?

thanx!

Have you tried SmartDeinterlace??...If so try also FeildDeinterlace(Decomb)...I have tried and the result was fine..

Try using telecide, it can be used with the decomb plugin for avisynth, or as a filter in virtualdub.

I havn't tried any PAL dvd, but for NTSC, I used FieldDeinterlce with blending sets to false to avoid motion bluring. Like this:

FieldDeinterlace(blend=false)

Hi-

I'm with khp. I would try Telecide() first. It will work either very well or very badly, depending on how the thing was converted to PAL. You can set it up for PAL easily in GKnot by hitting the IVTC button and then editing out the Decimate(cycle=5) line.
