View Full Version : Cannot get an accurate filesize with DiVX 5.02

Hi,

Following the guide closely using Gknot and DiVX 5.02, my rips are constantly +- 100megs SMALLER than the size I specify.
My bits/pixel*frame = 0.254
Bitrate = 1897
I'm using a 128 .mp3 which I created and specified on the bitrate tab to calculate the correct bitrate.

I'm IVTC'ing and adding SUB's, but constantly miss my predicted filesize by -100megs.

Any suggestions to where I should start looking for what is causing this? I've run out of ideas..? :(

Thanks

What load % do your compressibilty checks show?

Are you adjusting the fps for IVTC?

The compressibility check gives me:
82.0%

And I am using decomb for IVTC Interlaced. My source is NTSC 4:3

I set my frame rate to: 23.976 (?) I think this is correct, cos the source shows as 29.970 in DVD2AVI.

Hi,

Thanks for this, it seems this is exactly what's happening to me.
The explanation makes a LOT of sence to me.

Just looking for suggestions to get the filesize up now...
(Other than upping the audio size.)

Thanks!
