I have backup some dvd in svcd mpeg2-multichannel audio, but if i find a dvd player that read multichannel, like hitachi 315E, but have only digital out n not internal decoder, can my kenwood amplifier/decode decore it? (it have decoder of ProLogic, n Dolby digital).

thx to all:D

Kenwood does'nt, but Pioneer does: VSX-859RDS.
Philips supports MPEG-2 multichannel too.

I didnt find Pioneer in Italy, only kenwood 7775 thet can decoder multichannel, but cost 700 €, really too much for me. Do U know some dvd player that have internal decoer? so i can use my aplifier with 6ch input/output

Sorry, I only know the Philips DVD 722/762. Have 5.1 decoded output.

It seams like a good idea but the fact is that mpg 5.1 sound is impractical. I ve played with it for a bit in my philips dvd955 and found that you have to use high bit rates >224, lower than this and the channels get way distorted. Also, this results in large audio files meaning less space for video. Dolby surround2 is more practical and sounds fine and requires less space.

But modern dvd player read svcd with very high bit rate, i use made 2500 fix bitrate for video plus audio, ususally use 320, n sound good, also bcs i think for me is more cheap change player n not receiver.... bcs my can read only raw 6 ch input. or dolby digital, or prologic 1 (n it is very pour):)
