Hi

When making a VCD (mpeg1) using DVD2SVCD its plays jerky in my standalone player. It jerks about once every second.

If I use e.g. TMPG (not through dvd2svcd) to create a vcd , I dont have this problem.

I am no guru, but I think that it's the muxing in bbmpeg that cause the problem. Maybe wrong default setting that creates buffer underflows?

My SVCD's play fine.

Has anyone else had the same problem?

PS. It is not a to high bitrate that gives the jerkiness, as my standalone can play up to 6000 kbps.

Do you use the Default Settings ? Anyway, post your dvd2svcd.ini file here and I will test your settings.

I gurantee ya you weren't using 1150 bitrate for all your settings. Try loading vcdsettings.ini and try again...problem solved.

Yes, I weren't using 1150 kbps bitrate. I used about 2000 kbps. Why is that a problem?

I am at work now, so I can't post my log, but I am using the default settings.

In the bbmpeg log, when muxing, I get thousends of these errors:
"PS/TS video underflow errors at XXX ms" (something like this). It then says at the end to try and reduce video bitrate or increase/decrease (cant remember) audio bitrate.

When playing the mpg muxed by bbmpeg, it jerks so much it seems that the movie is slow motion.

When I demux the mpg and then mux using tmpg, the mpg plays much better, but still jerks about once every 3 or so seconds.

What settings do I need to change to make it play smoothly?
