Hi.

I downloaded some divx files that are black when I play them.

Audio comes out OK but image is just black. The filenames are all similar to "filename YG DivX5s".

It's like I need YG, whatever that is!

I do have divx 4 and divx 5 installed and I tried uninstalling them and reinstalling them.

I also tried WMP and MPLAYER2. No result. "The Playa" plays sounds but displays video as green and violet bars...

VirtualDub will also show the black screen. What on earth do I need to play those?!

THANKS.

PS: it's not only 1 file, but many show this behaviour. All have YG DivX5s y the filename.

no idea what YG is. But the first thing to make sure of is that your have your video card driver in 24 or 32-bit color depth. (DivX is 24-bit color.)

As far as I know YG is Yurie Galanter (Startrek fan who creates avi files) and that avi files are Enterprise episodes . They are all in Divx5.0.2 so try to reinstall your codec or lower your resolution (some times I have problem if resolution of screen is 1024x768). Hope this helps.
