This may seem odd but.......
I want to use DVD2SVCD to automate DVD2DVD-R.
Is it possible to set the output options of the encoder (Tmpgenc 2.54)to DVD level spec eg..4000kbps at 720-480, 3-2 pulldown etc?
And can i get the "Forced" subs permanently encoded into the mpeg2 video stream?

Hi Mosaic,
I think you should setup DVD2SVCD as follows:
1. tick "Don't make Images" in "CD Image" tab
2. then in "Audio" tab tick "Do not convert audio..."
3. in "Frameserver" tab you should select "DVD 720 x 480/576" in the "Resize to" pulldown field.
4. in "Bitrate" tab you should set the Max to "4500" and the "Max. avg" to "4000" and deselect the "Warn if total bitrate is too high" checkbox and set the CD size to a higher value that reflects the size of your DVD+-(R)W. Perhaps "4000" to have some space for audio and menus etc.
5. in "Encoder" tab you should select the "Output bitstream for edit(Closed GOP)" option from the TMPGEnc "Advanced settings"
So I think you will end up with the files you need for your DVD authoring software - AC3 audio stream, DVD compliant MPGE2 stream (M2V) and so on.
Hope that helps,
Gerti
P.S. I haven't done this right now so I can't say for sure if this wil work - so anybody out there please correct me if I'm wrong.
