de-interlace

What is best v-dub filter to use for de-interlaceing? I tried Gknot's field deinterlace, but i find that gunnar thalin's is good, assuming youuncheck blend instead of interpolate. Any ideas?

blend compresses better than interpolate, but interpolate looks better. Smartdeinterlace is nice too, but Gunnar Thalin's Deinterlace Smooth for 50fps beats them all. You have to encode with 50fps though which makes the filesize grow about 30% bigger and puts more stress on the cpu on playback, but it's worth it. I found out about that on www.100fps.com - good site!
