View Full Version : audio trouble...

In my first rips, I had no problems what so ever with encoding to mp3 - I even used custom parametres which I copied from razorlame's option screen, but lately I'm having some probs:
I guess Azid performs well, but when Lame *should* come in, I get an error 'Audio file is 0 Kb, maybe you can add audio at a later moment'. OK, no harm done: after the video has been encoded I open up BeSweet, convert the audio and mux it manually in NanDub. But last two times this happened (even with the default Lame parametres), the video bitrate was recalculated, so that the videopart was exactly 1390 MB, leaving me no space for the audio...

In between these rips I have (un)installed Gordian Knot several times (and deleted all registry keys manually), and I tried both GK 0.23b and 0.26b (but I switched back to 0.23b for the Smart Deinterlace function). Is this a known bug or something? It's not big a deal for me to encode the audio beforehand, but I just would like to know what's going wrong (what I'm doing wrong)

THX for reading my post

PS this is indeed my first post inhere; I can assure U that I have been looking for this specific error, but I haven't found it...
PPS I hope to be able to contribute something here over time!

Do you get the audio problems if you use the default parameters or when you use custom parms? Try a small video section and let gnot use the defaults. If you post your log file it would help.

Another thing to try would be to encode the MP3 with BeSweet before you let GKnot do it's thing. Then you add the file under Audio A and GKnot will compensate so that you have exactly the right amount of space left to mux in the MP3.

@ CaPPyD

Yes, that's what I'm doing now, but first of all I would like to let Gknot do that for me, and second: with Gordian Knot I *should* be able to use VBR instead of ABR audio...

@ MacSidewinder:

Yes, I tried it already with the default parametres (and it didn't work unlike the first few times I used Gknot). I have also re-unpacked the Lame 3.92 (entirely this time) into the Gknot installation folder, so I'm really on the dark here ?! I even removed GordianKnot completely from my system, with regkeys and everything, but reinstalling didn't do the trick...

I will post my logfile ASAP (that is when I get my hands on a DVD to rip :)

THX for trying to help me out here guys! I really appreciate it!!
