I would like to know if I have understood this correctly! You make your DVD2AVI project "d2v", then create the "avs" file thought the GK standard procedure and then go to VDub and by loading the latter "avs" file you encode an "avi" file with "Huffyuv codec" before the "Divx5 2-pass" encoding procedure? Is it advisable to proceed with the "Huffyuv" encoding before "Divx5" encoding or is it done automatically through the standard procedures? If yes, is it better to do it from the "avs" file through VDub with all the filters and resizing taking place or from the very beginning and proceed making a "d2v" file from the "huffyuv codec" xxx.avi file? BTW I tried to make the "Huffyuv" encoding from the very begging through the "DVD2AVI" menu and I could not pass the 2GB limit!

a BIG nono!!

just load your avs-file in VD (why do not you use GKnot for it?) and start your 2pass DivXXvid-Encoding... that's it.

AFAIK, Huffy is used to capture analog material to your HD. Huffyuv is a very fast, lossless Win32 video codec. Therefore it is ideal for capture. But your final *.avi will be as big as... whatever you want. Once you've captured using 'Huffy' then you may want to encode it with e.g. DivX.

If u have lots of HD space , u can use huffyuff (with filters applied to it)
and then do a 2 pass. I have done it too and it make no difference quality wise, but it does save u a lot of time, because i have to apply the filters only once instead of twice in a 2 pass!!
