so i can't read chinese ( im assuming it's chinese ), but this page (http://www.pcdvd.com.tw/doc/200206/review58.shtml) appears awful like a review of a hardware divx decoder card. if anybody finds anything else on this overdue product pls post something ... especially if it's in english! :)

There is a new article about that card on Tom's Hardware:
http://www.tomshardware.com/video/02q2/020621/index.html

We all know what crap Tom writes about divx at general, but it is still worth a look...

take care

I had this card but sold it already again. The card itself might be good ... but the Xmedia Player is absolutely WORTHLESS. I rarely saw a worse programmed media player ... even 'the playa' from DiVX works much better and straight forward. If you have a performant PC and a decent gfx card with TV out, you end up with the same. They say that you can also output to HDTV but that's years away from us here in Europe so ...
Anyway ... like I mentioned before ... the card itself is probably great (if it would encode too it would be amazing) but the soft is terrible and I don't think other software will make use of the card.

Just my 2cents ofcourse ...

now im feeling even more foolish, someone has it already . thanks candyman_eu. thanks for the link as well aleks ;), good old thg ... we should start a "review hardware using _good_ divx methods at THG" petition or campaign or something ;), waddya think ?

even 'the playa' from DiVX works much better

oh noooo ... that good hey :^|.

i'd say its next to useless if u can't use it for other software anyway as u say.

Toms Hardware isn't that bad...

They actually are the ones that got me into DivX back when it was first scraping out of the "compression Underground"... That was when I started toying with DivX 3.11a...
