First - sorry for my bad english
I've made a copy with DVD2DVD from a Pal Movie.
Copy seemed to be o.k., so I burned it to DVD.
I tried the copy in my Yamakawa and it worked fine.
Later I visited my neighbour with a Panasonic standalone Player
but it didn't work. DVD was recognised but the player couldn't play it.
Previous copies, where the original DVD was smaller than 4.3GB so that
you could make a direct copy, worked on this player.
So I went to an electronic shop an ther we tried Sony, Thompson,
Pioneer and Philips players, but the copy didn't work!
Now, where is the mistake?
Is it posible that this is a bitrate problem because DVD2DVD fitet it
nearly exactly to the 4.3GB and perhaps standalone player can only play
Mpeg2 files with an average bitrate of 2,4,6,8 Mbit - I don't know...
Perhaps there's anybody who knows where's the mistake!

I haven't heard of a utility called DVD2DVD. Making a full copy of a disc over 4.38GB is a bit more involved than just copying the disc. As for your concern with the bitrate, DVD players will play constant or variable bitrate videos up to a total of 9.8Mbps bitrate.

If you search for DVD2DVD on the board you'll find something about the DVD2DVD tool!
It's a kind of GUI tool that uses CCE and Scenarist to make a DVD9 to DVD5 copy. But may be that there is a mistake (perhaps GOP..)so that
get the mistake as discribed!

Hmm... I'm afraid I won't be much help then. I don't use that GUI or Scenarist.

Thank you for the try!
