Hi,
I'm looking for a quick and short (and painless) guide for Scenarist. I saw the guide on Doom9 but it's for the real pro who wants menus and all of that.
I, for now, just want to mux my video (M2V) and audio tracks (AC3 & DTS). That's it ... no menu needed ... just a plain VOB file with the IFO to burn onto my DVD-R.
Anybody having a quick guide for this ?
Thanks :)

PS: To all the guys who simply want to answer 'search the forum' or 'test it yourself', just don't bother and waste your and my time by writing above. I just need a nice helpful answer. The ones who know everything better than the rest ... get a life.:angry:

If that is all you're wanting to do, I highly suggest you use something other than Scenarist. What you're doing is like asking for flight instruction so you can fly a helicopter to the store just down the road from you. Using a car would require a lot less instruction and you'd still get the desired result of arriving at the store! :)

Well at this very moment this is all I want to do. Yes there might be chapters and one (maximum) subtitle in the forthcoming days/weeks, but right now, one video and two audio streams would be great already :-)
I was refering to Scenarist as I thought it's the only one who supports DTS. Are there other 'easier' ones which support DTS too ?

Nice analogy TRILIGHT:sly:

I too am not interested in Menus/Chapters/Extras. Just having the main movie also allows you to use a higher bitrate for the video.

candyman_eu,
I would suggest giving SpruceUp a try. It's a very simple program. ANY program is compared to Scenarist:scared: The only thing that sucks is you can't use DTS:( Although when trying to acheive the highest quality with your video, AC3 is a nice tradeoff since AC3=448 kps DTS=768 kps. If I want DTS, I split to 2 DVD-Rs. Hope this helps.

@wakebrder

Hi ... I'll give SpruceUp a try. However you say that you're not able to use it with DTS and then that you split to 2 DVD-R's when you want DTS. Does this mean you will simply split them with IFO-Edit without re-authoring ?

Well well after playing now for some hours on Scenarist WITH the doc ... I have to admit that's really the least user-friendly tool I ever used. I'm into computers for a long time but this ... well once I figure it out for the first complete movie it will get easier but it seems to be a long way ...

Thanks

Yes.
