.....creating a website?

Hey sup guys!
I was looking towards creating my website on the internet for my DVD Authoring Services.I want to make it really cool, with animation and stuff.Can you guys give me any suggestions.On how to create it? With what tools? With what host?(or whateva they call it)

I looked @ homestead.com's services.But I thimk it'll look dull or not exactly the way I wanted it to be with the Templates (and stuff) they provide.
I appreciate your suggestions/help!:)

I host my own websites over my ADSL connection using FREE domain names from www.dyndns.org . I use Dream Weaver and Fireworks by Macromedia as my editor, but I don't get into flashy animations and stuff coz they suck bandwidth, and as I'm hosting them myself, this is a luxury I don't have.

Not under the topic of the site but tis general discussion and chat so I would recommend finding someone that knows a thing or two about designing a web page and ask them to do it for you. But if that isn't feasible then here are some tips.

I used Homesite for the longest time but I hear Dreamweaver is much better these days. I prefer manual HTML editing to the WYSIWYG editors (although VS.NET is cool!) Recently I started using XML and XSL to generate pages and I have to say, I like what I'm getting. For you I would recommend finding a site similar to how you want your site to look and start cutting and pasting HTML to meet your own needs. This is how everyone starts in the beginning. Good Luck!

Let's get a bit more simple on this that your pervious replies.

I've done a lot of web coding, and there are perhaps a hundred or more technologies you might apply to it. Many of those technologies are ones that you have to weave into others in order to even avail yourself of them.

Your basic web page can be so simple. Your "really cool" web page is another matter entirely. But you want to have this site as an advertisement for your business, and so of course it is quite important that you stand out to your visitors.

There are a great many ways to be "cool", but as " brashquido" pointed out, bandwidth is everything. Still, there are ways (not many) to be "cool" without bandwidth problems on your home page, offering instead to your visitors the option of subjecting themselves to what might be the lengthier downloads of the videos (and things) you have in mind to show them.

The questions to you has to be these: Have you ever coded a web page? If so, could you send me what you consider your best one?

I'm not trying to put you off this task, by the way, but "Emp3r0r" is suggesting Dreamweaver, and, as you appear to be just getting into this, high-priced software is not where you probably want to be going, at least until you have had some success.

But who am I?

I am a freeware freak. I won't claim that I can do everything some of those top end packages allow, at least not as easily. Most of what they do, however, I can do quite well without spending a dime. You can too.

I've built a couple of websites (personal), and am very much looking to "partner" with someone who wishes a professional site.

Terms? I want the experience of bringing up a professional site. Perhaps a traded link; nothing more. I want to try my hand at the confinement of someone else's imagination when building a site instead of just my own imagination.
