2nd pass only OR How to reencode

Hi,

I've been using Xmpeg (Version 4.5) for a while, along with the DivX 4.12 codec. I always use the two pass option and that usually works out just fine. Now I made a mistake when setting the output size (720x360 instead of 720x304 with a 1:2.35 movie). Shouldn't it be possible to make use of the 35MB analyse.log file that was created during 1st pass and that's still sitting along with the VOB files in my input directory? I've tried that before with no luck and there's nothing to be found about it in the forum archives or the guides. I guess I'm just doing something wrong. Please enlighten me. =:-)

The normal 'rule' for 2pass is that u should use the exact same settings in 1st and second pass. The only thing that's 'okay' is to use a slightly differend bitrate for second pass (+/- 30%).
Since I'm not totally sure what informations are saved in the log file, I can't say 'why' u can't use the log file if u change the settings just a bit,... what I think is that most of the datas are saved with th e x/y-coordinates as ancor, so changing the resolution really wouldn'z do anything good,...
