NTSC or PAL?

SmartRipper tells me my DVD is NTSC.

But when i open the ifo-file in DVD2AVI and press F5 to preview, it's 4:3, 25.000 fps, PAL and Interlaced. I thought it was a NTSC film...

It is my understanding -- so I may be wrong -- that you're seeing information from two different places on the DVD.

1) The .txt file created by SmartRipper is using the .ifo file as it's source.

2) DVD2AVI is using the mpeg2 stream metadata in the .vob files.

I'll bet you have a PAL stream. However, you'll have to look at individual frames to determine if it actually interlaced.

Quick solution would be to read the DVD's case, or even better look at the size of the video. If it's 720x480, it's NTSC. If it's 720x576, it's PAL. Another way would be to let DVD2AVI make a d2v file (note: make sure Video>Field Operation>None is selected) and then use AVIsynth to load it into NanDub and go to File Information and you could see the framerate.
