I need an affordable dvd authoring program which can do:

1) mux mpeg2 video with either mpeg2 audio, raw wav pcm, or ac3 files
2) do simple menus with chapters, nothing fancy
3) write either .iso files or directory structure for burning by external application (I dont need a built-in burning software)

The 1) seems to be the big problem, the cheapest authoring program I can find which accepts .ac3 is about $400!!

I bought DVDit and it isnt cheap but this proggie is really shit.
It can ac3 sound but convert to 2 channel with 256 k only.
For sure i never buy a program before testing.
I´m searching for Maestro, but i cant find it.

It can't import 384k 2 channel ac3?

It looks like apple killed off this product after they acquired the company :(

Have you considered SpruceUp? It's still out there on the web, and it works with AC3 fine. It can't talk to my A04 burner directly, but it can make a nice image that Nero can then burn. If you don't already have an AC3 encoder, I guess this option is out.
