Just a quick question to see if anybody knows what prog could extract the original chapter layout of a dvd , into individual ac3 files.
I've been using Vstrip to extract the seperate cells , and then using AC3 machine to create -ddwav, but the problem is that some cells are only 6secs long a there for end up with a 6 sec track.

Never been a problem when making CDDA format because i have been putting back together with a sound editor, but i can't do that with a " -ddwav " file.

I know i could use BeSplit to cut up the Whole track but it is time consuming.

Any help greatly appreciated!!!!!

Thanks for that, but how the hell to make it work as no guide available for ChapterXtractor , and will this just remove the 6 sec track or will it join it to another and rename the track list.

vStrip lists chapters, so simply use the context menu to set start- / -end lba for the chapter you want and off you go...

Thanks " Maven " for your responce , I just want to now do i leave everything else as normal ( The way i usually have it ) ie: All vobs, correct IFO file, only select substreams , and select the stream i want, demux and ( Split by Cell Id )or do i leave it as default.

I think i did the right thing regards your post.

I set everything as above but set the start on cell 10 and set the end on cell 11 , trying to make only 1 ac3 file from 2 cells, but it does nothing, apart from sending my DVD Rom into a frenzy, waited sometime to no avail.

Could you please elaborate , or send a link to somewhere where i could read up on it.

Done searches , found nothing that can help!!

Thanks in advance:confused:

not much else i can say:
add vobs
add ifo
set start- and end-lba
configure output (i.e. check demux and select a single stream and give it a filename).

problem might be that it cannot find a key, so let it run from the beginning, enter the key manually and try again w/ start- and end lba.

Entered key Manually.

Entered start / End ( Cell 10 , Cell 11 )and saved as ec.ac3

It work fine , BUT ended up with 4 seperate cells.

1. ec.ac3
2. ec09.ac3
3. ec10.ac3
4. ec11.ac3

All i want to do is create 1 file , so as to mix cell 10 and cell 11 together , hence no more 6 sec AC3 track.
I could remove it altogether , but when making a -DDwav- full concert cd i NEED the 6 sec to keep it complete!

I selected ( Split Cells ) is this correct!

Thanks once again!

you DON'T want to split the cells as you want them in ONE file, right?

Works fine!!!!

It was self explanatory!!!!!

It would be great if you could rip the entire dvd , and be able to join any cells together at the same time?

Thanks for your help!!:)

I cut the log short as it would take up a few pages, anyway tried to rip as individual cells an transcode to -DDwav and everything works fine .

It only creates errors in besweet when it try to join 2 cells together.
