svcd to dvd-r?

does anybody know if a svcd can be made on a dvd-r that can play in a set top player? If so how many hours and minutes can fit and how is it done?

Look at this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19779&highlight=SVCD+DVDR) for one method. There is another possibly easier method (do a search) in which you keep 480x480, but I don't recommend it as it does not meet the DVD standard.
