Important Question

Why when I insert an AVI or MPEG in TMPG I get a black screen & the encoded vcd is black too but with audio only ??
my O/S is WindowsXP Pro..so could it be the reason ?

Please help me to solve this problem

Ok, first of all, I'd like to ask you a few questions:

Is the VFAPI correctly registered, so as to enable TMPGEnc to successfully read the AVI?

Have you got the relevant codec installed, for the type of AVI you are dealing with (will windows media player play it?)

What version of TMPGEnc are you using?

Hi ,
I don't understand what is VFAPI !! My Avi is Divx (but don't know the version) ,Media player plays it ,but TMPG shows black screen!
the version of TMPG is (TMPGEnc-2.55.38.142-Free) .
it reads some avi's but not all of them..the same for MPEGs!!
could u help me plz :)
