Well the past week I've been able to get my hands on a 2.2 Ghz Pentium4 with 512 DDR and man is this blazing fast. there's almost 0 loading time on most apps. anyways i was doing some video encoding mainly and these are the results ive gotton so far. 'just thought it was interesting.
encoding using xmpeg 4.5 with fast sse2 at 720 width using divx5.0.2 with yuv12 and at 224 audio bitrate and 1100 video bitrate (encoding black hawk down) in the first pass gave around 30-36fps and the second pass gave 60-67fps.
encoding using dvdx 2.0 P4 with all p4 setting checked, encoding a VCD at 1150video 224audio at 352x240 and (slower) High motion search it gave 18-20 fps. with low motion search it gave about 29-30 fps.
my question now is how does amd compare to this? becuase im looking forward to building a p4 for myself but if amd stacks up higher to this then...well lets just see how well it stacks up.
