Sorry if the title didn't make sense but I will explain myself.

I posted this a few days ago http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=26974.

Now I have just found out what the problem is (I think) VTS_01_0 contains the menus (Sound=192k)VTS_01_01 to_06 contains the movie (Sound=448k). When I use DVD2AVI so that I can frame serve into CCE & get my audio it tries to combine 192k sound with 448k sound, thus making a big mess.

Mikeathome replied to my first post saying remove the last cell before ripping, that will cure your problems. What this actually does (again I think) is just remove VTS_01_0 (or something that points to it)and gives me just the movie. fine no problem.

What I do want to do is keep the movie as the orignal. I want the menus and the extras. As far as I can see all I need to do is keep VTS_01_0.vob (orignal)and replace the main movie file with the CCE rencoded vobs (Maestro or Scenarist).

Now how do I update the INFO so that all works? This is the big question. I have only got the CCE&INFOEdit guide to work once (Spy game) and I used INFOUpdater.

Is it easy to update the IFO to work or can it not be done? If it can be done please teach me so that I can spread the good work.

Hope someone can help.;)

Just a brief overview of the method. I've used in on many DVDs.

1. On most movies you use DVD2AVI on VTS_01_1.VOB through the last in that VTS set (assuming VTS set 01) for the encode -- you never do the VOB that ends with "0". The reason I say "most" movies is that some have multiple PGCs within the movie's VTS and each PGC needs to be located and split out individually.

2. You then use the .D2V output from DVD2AVI and create an M2V.

3. Use an authoring package to recreate the new VOBs. Be sure to set chapter points to closely match the original.

4. Copy the new VOBs into the original directory.

5. Use IFOUpdate to update your IFO.

6. Use IFOEdit and "Get VTS Sectors"

7. Write to DVD.

Just sorted it out this morning, used my head for once.

Thanks for you reply Jdobbs.

I was looking at things again last night and worked out that VTS_01_0 was just the menus. So I just copied the maestro uothered file into the same folder as the other part of the DVD, used INFOUpdate (Thanks again) and everything worked.

So that 2 sucessful projects to date using doom9 guides.

I think I just need to learn more about DVD structures and INFO's. But well all have to star some where.

Thanks to everyone in these forums & I'm looking forward to helping out others.
