View Full Version : How to Change default parameters within GK?

Hi!

There are several default parameters that are used within GK and some that are used to call external programs.
I want to change the default audio encoding command line for the lame encoder and the deleting of the previous created WAV file. Is there any INI file or registry setting that can be changed to achieve this?

actually.. audio encoding is pretty configurable. just check mp3, custom parameters in the audio encoder tab and you can write your own commandlines. the most important divx5 parameters can be configured in the encoder tab as well.. then there's a small program that I've posted last month that allows you to configure the video codecs even more... and when you press the save6encode button in the preview window there will be an edit button at the botom allowing you to edit the avisynth script (for instance to change the decomb parameters).
then again you should know all that having read the guide ;)

oh yeah.. making other lame/aizd params won't work but on the other hand all it takes is one simple click (and another one for deleting the temp wav which btw you don't even get in the first place if you use the new gknot which uses besweet rather than lame/azid separately.. it's faster, doesn't use any tempspace and quality is higher as well)... your custom commandlines are stored, so next time you select mp3 custom params the line you used last time will be selected by default.. one extra click isn't too much to ask, is it?

Thanks for your advice but where can I find the new gknot? I'm working with 0.21beta and that's the current version I find on doom9.org...

0.21 is the oldest version you can get (you need to install it, I think, but then update to a newer version). The latest is 0.26b, to my knowledge.

Thanks! And where can I get 0.26b?

hmm.. on my site maybe? 0.26 is only an upgrade so it's not listed under rippacks (because the update is incomplete and you cannot use it to rip all on its own).. but if you look a little harder it shouldn't be too hard to find it. The gknot guide also links to all the software you'll need and last but not least there's the official gknot homepage: http://gknot.doom9.org/
