NE1 help , please.

the same m2v files have no problem importing to Maestro 2.9 at all, but only with Scenarist 2.6 or Reel DVD 2.5.1 using CineMaster 2000;
with the message:

Error: Number of fields ( 22510 ) in GOP (#1) or between sequence_header_code should be equal or smaller than 36.

0 file accepted, 1 file rejected.

What did i do wrong with the encoding ?

Truly appreciate any help

TIA

I am surprised that Maestro accepted these files.

the Scenarist error refers to the following:

The DVD spec states that the MAXimum GOP length may not exceed:

PAL > 15 frames (or 30 fields, if using interlaced material)

NTSC > 18 frames (or 36 fields, if using interlaced material)

So the answer to your question is that you have exceeded the maximum GOP length!

An EXAMPLE of an appropriate PAL IBP sequence would be (for instance):

IBBPBBPBBPBBPBB

This is not the only permutation - it's just one possibility. Observe that the above IBP sequence is for NON-interlaced (i.e. frame-based)PAL. If you count it you will see that the sum total of all the types of frames equals 15. You may have less than this, but not more. NTSC follows the alternative rules stated at the top of this reply.

your encoder should have a setting for GOP structure that'll allow you to set it to 15 (a good number either NTSC or PAL).
