GK warning about using smartripper 2.41-
what is "async sound"? And does it sound different?

This just means that the sound will not be in sync with the movie (i.e. come earlier or later than it should). Just use the internal rippers and you will be fine.

smartripper 2.41 will make an d2v file for you so you dont need to run the vob files through dvd2avi, but that is the incompatibelity warning.
because theese d2v files smartripper makes would make an asynch video with the audio.
so the ripping is no problem but you have to run the vobs through dvd2avi as before if you want synch sound.
so thats what it is warning about. not that if you rip with sr 2.41 it wont work.

I come from the mpeg2avi world, so "async sound" has always been the norm (chuckles). Thank you sir, for the full answer.
