resizing screen to increase video quality

I have downloaded a Avi - Divx file: Knights Tale, but it is a full screen movie (I guess stretched since the image quality is poor).

I would like to resize it back to wide screen, but I wonder if this is possible.

Can someone inform me whether this is possible?

I guess when you start with a bad quality movie, you are stuck with it....

you could try playing it with zoomplayer
to see, how it looks resized.
if that's something you want,
just encode it again, but i doubt
the quality will be any better...
