How do I add CSS keys to copy protect my DVD.I tries creating it, but I get a error message saying that it couldn'd locate the CSS files or something.Do I need to add some sort of file in the PVD Editor? Also It gives me a choice without CSS.is that when the Replication plant decide on the CSS keys or something?
Thanks In Advance!:)

CSS requires a license. Mastering facilities have the license and it is there that the encryption is added. (usually as the final step before pressing)

Theoretically you could do CSS 'at home' but you'd need the license (with the CSS keys) and a "DVD-R for Authoring" burner such as the Pioneer s401.

In scenarist you'd select 2054 instead of 2048 to allow for the encryption bits and so on...

Anyway, what's the point of scrambling the disc? Anyone who knows enough to be able to copy the video_ts folder from the disc and then how to handle the VOBs will also know how to deCSS them...

It seems to me that CSS is a total waist of money for any distributor. Who is it really stopping?

Well, first, you pay your license fee to the CSS people, then they will send you a file that Scenarist will access to encrypt your files.

Anyway, why are you even wasting your time (and money) to encrypt your files with such a demonstratively weak encryption scheme? You would be better off using some varient of the "Menu Navigation / Enter Correct Access Number to Proceed" type of access control. At least this one would take me a little longer to crack.

the use of access number protection does not prevent copying of the video_ts folder or the use of smartripper

Thanks for replying bros!
Well, you got any idea how much CSS licence costs? And I am adding CSS because, well I'm creating a test disc and was wondering if some client might want to add CSS to their title. If the License costs a lot lot money, then I got ways of convincing them not to add CSS:D .Just tell 'em that it could be easily cracked. right?;)
Thanks!:)

I am using a DLT Tape with DLT Drive.

License to use CSS keys costs around $10,000

Most replication facilities have keys and will provide the necessary files to you if you are going to use their services.

You should be able to find some info at:
http://www.dvdforum.org

Try to convince your client to spend all that money to pay you to do something that you profit from (ie. convince them they need more menus or something instead of CSS which is worthless).
