I have read that Robshot has been able to get (3) 90-120 DVD rips to fit on (1) DVD-R by using CCE.
I have not had much luck getting my rips down to a size that would even allow (2) movies on one DVD.
Can anyone give any advice on where to turn to try this.
I'm not to worried about DVD quality, but would still like near DVD.

Thanks

Try this http://www.doom9.org/mpg/cce-advanced.htm guide. Using this guide i managed to get many movies between 1.3 and 1.5 GB (1-pass) without sound though. If you dont mind the quality you can fit 2 or even 3 movies on a single DVD5.

It depends a lot on the complexity of the movie. I've found that movies that are 24fps (23.976) are a lot more likely to stay below the line and get decent compression. Using the Robshot method I've gotten several films small enough to fit 3-per-disc if I go to Dolby 2/0 surround sound @ 192kbs -- but if you are trying to keep 5.1 AC3 it is very difficult. You can use up close a half a gigabyte per movie leaving a little less than 1GB for the video... that's really tough.

I have been able to get 2 movies (total of 220 minutes) with ac3 5.1 on one DVD-R using this method. Created the m2v file using Robshot's method using CCE 2.5, renamed the ac3 file extracted through DVD2AVI to test.ac3 (to match with test.m2v) and then used SpruceUp to author a DVD with the two movies.

I've had no problem getting 2 movies on a disc. 3 is a little more difficult. For some movies (like Lawrence of Arabia) be happy that you can fit one... A high-action movie can take up more space (to stay below the gray bitches line) while dark films are usually really small.

Thanks for all the replies..
I have gotten several movies down to a small size 1.05GB with Very good quality (.m2v and .ac3 files) but the audio is off about a half a second. AC3 file is -92ms Delay how can I get this to synch with the movie. Looked at AC3machine and Nandub that other threads suggested but I think I'm not understanding what to do.

Get "AC3 Delay Corrector" from DOOM9's download area -- it will fix the audio problem (I'm assuming you are keeping AC3 audio).
