Hi,
Im ripping movies with dvddecryptor and then burning with primodvd... This particular movie Im working on (The One) is prett simple in that I just need to delete the vts_04_x.vobs. I didnt touch the rip other than that, and when I try to burn this in primodvd, it complains that there's a video_ts dvd format error.

That seems to be true since if I burn it anyway, it doesnt play in my standalone..but it does play in the xbox.

I thought it was ok to just delete unwanted vobs? Or am I missing something here?

Thanks!

I've never >DIRECTLY< backed up a DVD in this manner, but I believe that if you are removing VOBs, you will need to use IFOedit. Ask in the IFOedit forum:

yes, you have to get vts sectors with ifoedit; however, whenever I use this method I have to burn with a different program: vob instant cd/dvd and it will play fine with menus and all. For some reason, Primo just refuses to burn when you take out files.

A I understand it, if you don't modify the IFO files (using IFOEdit) so it is recognized that the VOBs are gone, PrimoDVD will see references in the IFOs to the missing VTS and generate errors.

I've had a similar problem. I have done many discs ripping/ifoedit etc and burning with Vob InstantCD/DVD - all O.K. I have recently got Primo DVD as I understand that this is the best software to back-up PS2 games on. It won't burn my films at all :( and I run everything through Ifoedit to update all the ifo & bup files. If I burn the film DVD's with Vob Instant it burns O.K.. Still it is early days yet. I have only had primo dvd for a few days !!! I cast my mind back to the days when I was first trying to do DVD's (Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)
