Is it possible to juse use Gordian Knot alone (of course all of the exterior programs that are utilized by it) to produce a VCD from .vob's or even a DivX? I know that TMPGENC is the most widely used program, but does/will Gordian Knot support this?

gknot is a divx encoding tool. the two resizing settings are just there for people who don't want to write their avs scripts manually for vcd and svcd encoding.. gknot will never do vcd and svcd... why should it? we have a very good program for this already: dvd2svcd.. there's no need to re-invent the wheel.

I see....good answer.
So then I can't integrate DVD2SVD into GKnot then.
Then if one wanted to go from DivX to VCD, the only option would be VirtualDub and TMPGENC?

i think it becomes much more interesting to rip his dvd titles in svcd/vcd format then in dix- sure divx is better quality- and dont misunderstood me i love divx but more and more people get a standalone player and so vcd format is requested more and more- maybe it would be nice to find some guys who will share there experiences while changing from divx to svcd- btw dvd2svcd isnt really soo good- many buttons many options- well i love g-knot ;)
