Hi folks!
Regarding resize filters, Gordian Knot always choose Bilinear and sometimes I used *simple resize filter**. In doom9 I read that he always uses Neutral Bicubic....but...What is best resize filter to achieve the best quality?

IMO, Neutral Bicubic gives the best quality at reasonable speed.

thx by your answer llemor!
I suspected that but then why Grodian Knot always chose bilinear resize filter when I use a CD to store a big movie (like The Mexican or AI for example)?

Well, although GKnot chose bilinear as default resize filter (being the first entry in the option), it doesn't mean you have to use it in your avs setting. You're free to change that option - choose what you think that will go well with your preferences. ;)

Doesnt GKnot choose which one it thinks will work best?
I've had GKnot choose every one on different occasions. If I change the resolution, it will change it's choice. Can anyone verify this?

CaPPyD, based on my own experiances with gknot 0.23b I believe the default filter used is based on the BPP value. Under 0.2 is BiLinear over 0.27-ish it's Sharp BiCubic - I usually force select Neutral (per doom9) if the default is bilinear or soft.

i always force select neutral as well. and what you are saying about the BPP value kinda makes sense, but not really. I've had it where i move my resolution one notch and it jumps from bilinear to sharp. Maybe one of the mods could jump in and make a clarification on this matter?
