Hi everyone, sad day today...

I'm with WinXP, divx 5.0.2, GK 0.26 and this message came again just this morning.

Strange thing: every thing worked yesterday, I've encoded a Divx during the night and used the "shutdown when fisnished" button.
Now that I'm back, I can't open de .d2v

The last timed it happen to me, I think I've used the automatic shutdown too.

I've of course search through the forum, I even tried this method that worked the last time and for others:

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=21588&highlight=not+AND+a+AND+valid+AND+DVD2avi

But this time, NOTHING seems to work.
I've tried every possible combinaison I can think of, and GK doesn't to know anything.

I don't want to format because of a single program.

Any ideas?
thx, sephiros.

I use XP too, after reformatting I got 2 errors:

I don't know the exact solution but I got it working again without reinstalling anything.

A message in Gnknot saying that besweet couldn't start because "libmmd.dll" was missing, don't ask me why that was missing but all I had to do is find a copy of that file (is wasn't easy at all, I end up founding one inside 3d studio's upgrade pack), copy it to the gknot directory and it was all god.

I got this error opening d2v projects too, I can't exactly remember what I did in this one but that is what I remember doing:
1 - Reinstalling avisynth, a later version (probably has nothing to do with it)
2 - Deleting and Redoing the d2v file in DVD2AVI

I read somewhere that there is a bug in the IEEE-1180 Reference that causes problems only in some movies, but I guess that's not it either.

The odd thing is that I get this error on old D2V files that worked before.

changing Avisynth didn't help neither.

It was like that for me, they were working and suddenly they stopped working. Are you unable to create new ones?

Make sure that you didn't change the location of vobs where the d2v file is refering to. Path to vobs location is saved in d2v file, so if you changed it, GKnot won't be able to open the d2v file.

ok got the solution.

delete gknot folder,delete all gknot refs(shortcuts ect).enter regedit control F...type"gordian knot"=>enter,F3=>delete,F3=>delete,F3=>delete,F3=>delete.....finished searching registry,install gknot AGAIN - BINGO
:) :D :D

i also went straight from 0.21 update to 0.26 update.other times i installed all updates.

NOTE:control F brings up the search box,F3 is the key for "find next"
