Deinterlacing

Hello,

Is it enough to just use Forced Film in DVD2Avi and deinterlace filter in nandub to deinterlace?
Or is it better to perform IVTC also (with TMPGenc) in between those 2 methods?

for me it's not enough. I've tried deinterlacing with virtual dub and it's still showing up.

For me, IVTC is impossible. I never had it work correctly, automatic or manual. How am I suppose to know if it messed up or not? Setting the pattern always gets me some interlaced frames. I don't see how anyone can possible have success with it. If it wasn't for that step everything else is easy.

People are telling me that just using a deinterlace filter in nadub works fine, but I've tried that and I'm not seeing decent quality video..

Forced Film in DVD2Avi and deinterlace in nandub look just fine for me. I dont get that much interlaced sources, so I havent done much of deinterlacing...but this method works ok for me :D

Be happy that u don't encode PAL anime DVD's, most of them are almost impossible to IVCT and deinterlace due to poorly NTSC to PAL conversion. I have seen examples of ghosting in the original DVD on a standalone DVD player, it's hell!!

for some reason today I was able to deinterlace with no problem... using the same VOB files I did last time.

However, when i go full screen the coloring looks really crappy.. and I encoded it at resolution 720x480 too. GRRRR!!!

Hello!

Do a search for 'decomb' in the avisynth forum. I can only say: It's perfect for animes and all interlaced, telecined and hybrid stuff. Works even great on 'cowboy bebop' and 'gun smith cats'.

Why Vfapi?

the avisynth one is a good solution, but may be that you encode in CCE(?), Virtualdub support it, and the net bring a very useful filters for all tastes :cool:
