View Full Version : HPT370 RAID Drivers - can I upgrade?

I recently bought 2 Seagate 60GB HD's for my capturing efforts and I had a few questions.

The ABIT KT7A-RAID(v1.1) board I have has been updated to the latest BIOS ver 7N, this includes a HPT370 BIOS update to 1.11.0402.
When installing the RAID under XP, XP finds the HPT370 controller and adds it's own driver for it, all is sweet.

Recently the HPT370 website (www.highpoint-tech.com) has updated their drivers for an XP one. Being of the ilk of upgrading to the latest drivers I wanted to get these latest versions.

The website says though that these drivers are only for their PCI host controller cards not onboard/mboard combo's.

Has anyone been able to get these drivers/BIOS updates/RAID GUI software from the Highpoint website to work with an onboard HPT370 controller? It's just that ABIT don't look like they are gonna update their own driver packages to reflect Highpoints latest updates?

Anyone?

HPT370A here onboard an EPoX 8K7A+ (v1.1). I was able to use the v1.03b drivers on the HighPoint site (and they worked MUCH better than the ones supplied by EPoX) - however, that was before WindowsXP came along and destroyed things.

I am unable to use the drivers off HPT's site now... could just be the new mobo BIOS causing the issue though. You might want to fire off an email to Abit asking if they're working on a release with the new drivers.

i'm using their newest drivers w/ my adaptec 1200a, but that's a PCI card, too.
just try it, if it does not work you'll have the driver rollback feature (hopefully ;))
