Hi All -
I'm a little stumped by this one. I have a movie that I am trying to backup to a DVD-5. I need to shrink it. But it's also a hybrid, mostly FILM but some NTSC. All progressive. Because it's a hybrid, I'll need to leave FIELD OPERATION set to NONE in DVD2AVI and do my IVTC elsewhere. (I'll get to that in a second.)
This means that what I'm leaving DVD2AVI with is a 29.97, 720x486, progressive project, right? So then, the question is, what do I set ENCODE MODE to in TMPGenc to on the first page of settings? My options are NON-INTERLACE, INTERLACE, 3:2 PULLDOWN or INVERSE 3:2 PULLDOWN. I think it should be NON-INTERLACE, since my original material was progressive, but is this right?
Now, a slightly off-topic question. I think I then take the output of TMPG as an m2v and run it through AVISYNTH with DECOMB to clean out the NTSC problems I am having. Is this correct? Does this change the above choice at all?
Any help is very much appreciated. I've been stuck on this for weeks!!!
Thanks!
