Hello everybody,

here is my problem. I'm trying to convert an AVI file to SVCD. I have done it a few times without any problems. However when I'm trying to convert an avi file with AC3 audio the audio extraction ( the one that is immidiately done when you start conversion ) stops halfway but does go on with the next step. If i let DVD2SVCD end, i will have 2 images with excelent video but the audio stops halfway!

Can anybody please help me?

tnx.

You prolly need to post your log file for us to help you. Its kinda hard to see what D2S is doing without that.:)

I think you are missing header index or fault in file due to download reconnection.
Try DivFix and scan the file.If it shows errors in the header it will not convert the whole audio but just up to the point where the frame error is unless you fix this

Have a look at this and see if it helps.

This is the point where it stops halfway, but does continue converting the file and ends the dvd2svcd process but with sound until the point where it just stopped extracting.

Oh and Madpuppet, i ran DivFix and it found no errors. I tried to re-index my file en stripping my index but none of this improved the extraction altough I still think this is the problem.

Please more advise!

tnx

what i do for those problem avi files is open them with virtualdub and extract the audio with direct stream and rename it to audio.ac3 where audio is the file name and then i run it thru besweet with the gui and convert it to mp2 and then replace the mp2 in the dvd2svcd file project folder with this mp2(rename it to Encoded_audio_1.mp2) and then do a crash recovery in the mux stage
