Hey!

No matter what I do, the output file size is always bigger than it should be! I´ve done everything: marked re-calculate options for video and audio, pressed the 1 CD button, tried to switch for "Calculate .avi file size" instead of calculating the average bitrate, done compression tests... EVERYTHING... Damn man... during the encoding Gordian always re-calculate the bitrate to a bigger size. When it says 640 kbits/s Gordian re-calculates it for 1200 kbits/s in the end... how come it´s happening??? I just CAN´T fit the whole movie in one cd like this, it gets like 890 mb, great image though, but never fits.... If someone can helpe me, please let me know as soon as possible... really looking foward for this solution!
thanx...

First you need to post the log file for your encode or its kind of hard to see what is happening.

Second you need to use a more descriptive subject line.

Hey no prob, using a more descriptive subject makes it easier for other users to help you. Post the log file and I'm sure you'll be assisted.

when you create your dvd2avi project are you using forced film or none in the video menu?

well I´m using forced film as told on the guide, why?

well the guide says to preview the movie first in dvd2avi and write down the fps. If you are using forced film though make sure that you are selecting 23.976 in gordian knot instead of whatever the preview says. This allows gordian knot to do the frame count properly.

this was a problem i was having with the guide. i was setting it to 29.970 because thats what it said in the preview window originally with none selected in the video menu.

Thanx a lot twinux, I was actually setting to 29.970:o... I´ll try to set 23.976.
I think I did it some time ago but the movie ran twice as fast, probably I was doing something wrong, maybe that´s it... thanx a lot for your tip man...I´ll try it rightaway...

Doesn't Gordian Knot autoselect the right fps when you open the project?

soniv

Yes, now I´ve noticed that! I was putting down the fps before set forced film (29970), and in Gknot I was choosin this option, although the program started with 23976. So, if what you´re saying is correct, Gknow would start with 29970 if the fps of the project after setting forced film was 29970 right?? Very good to know... thanx a lot!

Yes ! That´s it twinux, I got it... :D Thanx a lot! I think I will try to report the misunderstood to one of the members, so they can make a little mod on the guide.
