View Full Version : Problems With Amelie (R2) & Sync problems

I’m following CCE & INFOEdit guides and keep getting sync problems.

I first followed the CCE guide to create my M2V file, using 9800 as the max bitrate. I later found this would not work with Scenarist, so I tried to create the project using Maestro but The audio was to far advanced for the video and the sub’s would not show up. I scraped it and started again.

From scratch I followed the CCE guide, but for some reason I keep getting delay on my audio track (49ms) using DVD2AVI. I carried on using CCE but used 9400 as my max bit rate and unchecked DVD compliant.

This time Scenarist worked and compiled my project, but when I play it the Audio is about 2 sec in front of the video and the sub titles are way out of sync. I really don’t want to give up on this film but I’m getting to the point where there seems to be no way of getting it to work.

One thing I did not do from the guide was to add an extra track because I was confused but this, could someone please explain it to me?

I have completed one project using the CCE & INFOedit guide (Spy game r2) but I used Maestro & did not put in any sub titles.

Could someone who has converted Amelie (R2) please help me?

Also why do I keep getting delay when using DVD2AVI?

Thanks for reading

D

hey drikbox ..I have re-encoded amelie with cce and reauthored it with scenarist (with 9800 max bitrate ...and had no problems with importing into scenarist) ...and all went fine ..except subtitles ..I have a region 2 so when u use s3 converter half of the subtitles are not exported...how did you get yours to work...do you see all the subs when you play back after you have re-athored it with scenarist ...........because s3 converter only supports ntsc for now. (check out my post about subtitles with s3 coverter and the reply i got from the author).....I am not sure why you get an audio problem ..but when i re-author all together with the audio delay (I also get 48) all works fine.. its not a big problem if you get a delay ...scenarist with fix that when u re-author it!!!...So strange that you get a asynch audio and video....hmm.......Maybe its your CCE settings that cause a asynch problem with the subtitles.....I have the following settings for CCE

ADD sequence end code (check)
Upperfield first (check)
Progressive frames (check)
Linear quantizer scale (check)
Zigzag scanning order (check)
DVD Compliant (check)

i guess i will have to look at mine carefully as well...can you give me an example of a scene in amlie where it is clear for you that your Audio is about 2 sec in front. Maybe mine is as well but i do not seem to realise it or something.....Just to be on the safe side i'll check it again ..if you let me know of the scene!!!!

caprioles9000. I found it was out all through the film. The main bit I notice is in the resturant when the guy is talking on his dictaphone.
How did you get it to import with 9800 bit rate? Did you add in the audio aswell?

Fletch Is yours the NTSC version or PAL. If it's PAL how did you do it, could you say step by step

Thanks but thats not it. I've already used dely corrector and it didn't help.

I don't know if it has something to do with the menus being in the same vob. Anyway I can't get it to work.

Yeah, there all in VTS1.

Is your version complete ?

Yeah, my copy is PAL R2 -

I used DVD2SVCD / CCE to re-encode the video (and it also ripped the AC3 file for me ). Imported the m2v file and AC3 file into Maestro.. Imported the stripped menus and re-authored with the subs.. Had no sync problem with audio or subs ... I did not have to do anything to sync the audio up....A very simple copy

I don't know where you going wrong... ? There was nothing unusual about copying this dvd for me.

Cheers

PS: catch me on ICQ 10219443 if you have any questions

What stripped menus, maybe this is the problem. The menus are in the Vobs. Does this mean that you set your DVD2AVI from the start of the movie and not the start of the vobs?

I haven't stripped anything out.

The menus are in a different vob to the movie. I stripped the movie seperately then decided to add the menus as I had some room left on the disc. I doubt this is your problem.
